Karen Lainson
Playing Horses
Karen has been working with clay since the early eighties and is entirely self taught. Having mainly worked with a mythical theme she is now concentrating on more on her love of horses and has been developing this range for the past five or six years.
Each stoneware piece is entirely built, a slow but necessary process, to achieve the spirit needed for each piece of work. they are then fired glazed and refired to 1230 degrees and nervously extracted from a very cool kiln.......
Her sculptures are exhibited at several galleries across the UK and Karen regularly attends the Potfest show in Penrith
